Our first working party was a great success. Despite some of our regular volunteers being unable to make it, we still had a good turnout. We cleared a small area of young sycamores to make room for the arisings of future work.
There will be some small trees being planted just beyond this area which have been grown by pupils from the village school. I’m sure it will be fascinating for them to return in many years’ time and see the oaks and horse chestnuts they have grown. We also cleared inside and around the gas tank compound which had become very overgrown.
After a good morning’s graft we were treated to a cooked breakfast in the community hall. Many thanks to those that made that possible.
