Welcome to our new website

We are very eager to have the best possible communication between the villagers of Hintlesham and Chattisham and the facilities and events the Community Council offer. It is very important to us to provide what people want and we are very keen to hear more about what you would like us to put on at the hall, the playing fields and the woodland.

The new website is intended to provide an immediate facility whereby you can see, at a glance, what our upcoming events are, what regular events are being held at the hall, and an easier way for you to book the hall should you have an upcoming special occasion you want to share with family and friends.

Please feel free to suggest how we might improve the website, or propose things you would be interested in attending which we are not currently offering.

  1. I have just read Notes from the Parish Council meeting & would ask if the Council are responding to the 14 week proposed road closure between Hadleigh Rd. & London Rd.?
Surely an alternative to this carnage can be found including a redesign/ rethink of the need to install additional traffic lights which will make 3sets within 500yds.
The proposed diversion will cause absolute mayhem for vehicles coming from Hintlesham & beyond during the height of Summer. Surely an alternative can be found that suits the community & not just the pockets of the Developers. Phased works, night working, weekends etc. etc.
Finally, why couldn’t the development have been planned to access it via the existing traffic lights at A1071/ Hadleigh Rd.? Also, why wasn’t the local population made aware of this at Planning Approval Stage as, I for one, would have objected most strongly. A 14 week closure will greatly impact on the local economy especially that of Hadleigh & beyond. Do we need to get our MP involved, albeit he is currently up to his armpits in it? I await your sage advice.
